Work as one, own the whole

Bahriya is a small team building world-class cloud infrastructure from the Islamic world. We hire whole human beings — deep, multi-capable, and accountable — not people who operate a single function. Every role owns a product line end to end.

What we value

Knowledge, humility, integrity

Three things matter above all else in the people we work with. Skills can be taught; these are who you are.

Knowledge

Depth, earned honestly

We look for people with real depth — the kind earned by building, breaking, and understanding things from first principles. Not credentials for their own sake, but genuine command of the craft and the curiosity to keep extending it.

Humility

The knowledge to know what you do not know

The most capable people we know are the quickest to say "I was wrong" or "teach me." Humility is what keeps knowledge honest. It is how a small team stays correct, learns fast, and treats one another well.

Integrity

Upright when no one is watching

We build a platform people trust with their infrastructure. That trust starts internally: doing what is right when it is inconvenient, saying the true thing plainly, and holding to our word. Accountable first to Allāh ﷻ, then to each other and our customers.

Knowledge & humility

What we mean by knowing

Two statements define how we hold knowledge and humility together. To us they are not opposites — the first is incomplete without the second.

On knowledge

“Real knowledge is to know the extent of one’s own ignorance.”

— Confucius
Depth is not only what you have mastered — it is knowing precisely where your mastery ends. That is why knowledge and humility are the same discipline for us.

On humility

“Incapacity to reach comprehension is comprehension.”

— Abū Bakr aṣ-Ṣiddīq (may Allah be pleased with him)
To grasp the limit of your own grasp is itself a kind of grasp. The person who knows what they do not know is, to us, the one who truly understands.

Our foundation

We are here to help one another

“But what is the matter with you that you do not help one another?”

— Sūrah aṣ-Ṣāffāt (37:25)

On the Day of Reckoning, God asks people why they did not help each other. We take that question seriously now, not later. It is how we operate: we help each other, we carry the load together, and we work as one — always.

That is how the Mamluks built an empire — on merit, discipline, and the conviction that ability comes with responsibility. It is how we build Bahriya.

Whole people, not functions

Almost every role here is technical and owns a product line from roadmap to design to implementation, across the entire stack. We want people with several real capabilities and genuine depth — not linear specialists who can only turn one crank.

Three layers, no more

The whole organisation is never more than three layers deep. There is a hierarchy, but it is flat and close. You will not be far from where decisions are made — you will be making them.

Ownership, end to end

You own your service the way a founder owns a company: the vision, the build, and the running system. Nobody hands you a spec — you write it, then you ship it.

How we work

Every role is a Principal Product Architect

Our roles do not split into architect, product manager, and engineer. One person is all three for a single product line — closer to a business-unit owner for that product: you own the proposition end to end, from the business case and roadmap, through design, to the running code.

You own the proposition

The business case and the roadmap are yours: what the product should become, who it is for, and why it wins. You plan it, you design it, you defend it.

You design the product

You shape the whole experience — Console, CLI, Terraform, and API — to the platform’s standard of simplicity.

You build and run it

You implement across the full stack and carry the service in production. Ownership does not stop at merge.

Working with us

How the arrangement works

A few practical things that are true of every role — before you read the specifics.

Remote, anywhere

Every role is fully remote. Work from wherever you are in the world — we engage on a consultancy basis, not by location.

Four-hour Dubai overlap

Bahriya runs on the Dubai working day. Wherever you are, we ask for at least four hours of daily overlap so we can work as one team, in real time.

Fluent English, spoken and written

We work and write in English across the whole team. Clear, fluent English — both spoken and written — is essential, because how you explain your thinking is part of the work.

Full-time or part-time

We would rather have the right person part-time than the wrong person full-time. Serious part-time candidates are genuinely welcome.

Here to build, not just employed

You work at Bahriya because you love making things that are meaningful and beautiful — not because you simply need a job. We hire for that difference, and it shows in everything we ship.

Quality over speed — always

We optimise for doing things well, not fast. We would always rather ship the right thing correctly than the quick thing twice. This is non-negotiable.

How to apply

Email us at careers@bahriya.cloud with the role in the subject line. Tell us, in your own words, what you have built and owned — not just where you have worked. Links to real work speak louder than a CV. We read every application and reply.

Do not see a role that fits but believe you belong here? Write to us anyway and make the case.

Candidates only, please — no recruiters or agencies. We hire people directly and only respond to individuals applying on their own behalf.
